Tomorrow
Tomorrow, there’s a chance that after tomorrow, I will be a man.
Well, I’ve always been one, gender-wise. 😂 But I mean the proper transition. From being a boy to becoming a man.
Oh man, Apostle Paul! I’ve never seen the man, but goodness, did he know how to put things into perspective.
“When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.” — 1 Corinthians 13:11
The transition I’ve looked forward to since I was a child. The day I get to look at myself and acknowledge that I’ve stepped into a new chapter of my life.
Not because everything suddenly makes sense. Not because I have all the answers. But because I’m beginning to understand that being a man is about so much more than age.
It’s about responsibility. Sacrifice. Intentionality. Accountability. And, above all, the willingness to love beyond yourself.
And tomorrow, I get to take another step towards that.
I think about the little boy I once was — the things he dreamed about, the man he hoped to become — and I can’t help but smile.
There’s still so much growing to do, so much to learn, so much life to experience.
But goodness, what a privilege it is to get here.
And if there’s one thing I hope to carry into this next chapter, it’s this:
becoming a man isn’t about losing the boy I once was.
It’s about honouring him, by becoming everything he dreamed of, and perhaps even more.
Here’s to growing up, growing wiser, and becoming a man worthy of the life, the love and the responsibilities entrusted to him.
Tomorrow, we grow. ❤️
